The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has scheduled a public hearing to discuss the draft 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The hearing will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Ed “Bosh” Froehlich Meeting Room of Mandan City Hall, located at 205 2nd Ave NW, Mandan. This session will be held alongside the MPO Technical Advisory Committee meeting.

According to the MPO, "The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for public involvement in the development of the draft 2026-2029 TIP. The TIP coordinates and schedules transportation projects (i.e., highway, street, bikeway, pedestrian, transit, safety, enhancements, and other transportation improvements) in the metropolitan area over the next four years, thereby making these projects eligible for federal assistance. The TIP includes metropolitan area transportation projects proposed by the following jurisdictions: Bismarck, Mandan, Lincoln, Morton County, Burleigh County, and NDDOT. The draft TIP contains the Program of Projects or identified list of transit needs to be funded over the next four years."

The draft document is available for review both online and in person. After considering feedback from citizens during this comment period and hearing, the MPO plans to present the draft TIP to its Policy Board.

Community members are encouraged to attend either in person or remotely via video or audio link. Those wishing to make a comment through remote participation should submit their email address and contact information at least one business day before the meeting. Written comments can also be submitted until Friday, September 5. Comments should be addressed to Stephen Larson at PO Box 5503, Bismarck ND 58506; they may also be faxed to (701) 222-6450 or sent by email.

For more information about participating or submitting comments on the TIP process—or for those needing accommodations for disabilities or language assistance—individuals can contact Stephen Larson at (701) 355-1848 or reach out to the Title VI/ADA Coordinator at (701) 355-1332. TTY users may use Relay North Dakota by dialing 711 or 1-800-366-6888 at least five days before the meeting.
