The United States Air Force Reserve (USAFR), in partnership with the Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD), is scheduled to carry out an aerial spray operation over Williston from August 5 to August 8, 2025, depending on weather and other conditions.

Military aircraft involved in the mission will be flying at low altitudes. The spraying will occur near sunset during the designated period.

The USAFR plans to use Trumpet, which contains the active ingredient Naled, for adulticide treatments. According to officials, Trumpet has been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for application in residential areas.

"Williams County Vector Control District is working with USAFR to ensure effective mosquito control while prioritizing public safety," a WCVCD spokesperson said.

No additional details regarding potential road closures or changes to local schedules have been announced as of this date.
