The Primary Residence Credit (PRC), established during the 2023 Legislative Session under House Bill 1158, offers North Dakota homeowners a chance to apply for a state property tax credit. The credit is managed by the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner.

Homeowners who successfully apply may receive up to a $500 reduction on their 2025 property tax bill. Eligibility requires owning and residing in a home in North Dakota as one's primary residence. This includes houses, mobile homes, townhomes, duplexes, or condos.

There are no age restrictions or income limitations for this credit. Each household can only receive one Primary Residence Credit.

Applications are open until March 31.
