U.S. Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer announced that the Senate has confirmed Nicholas W. Chase as United States Attorney for the District of North Dakota. The senators had previously recommended Chase to President Trump for the position and supported his confirmation in the Senate.
“The Senate confirmed Nick Chase to be U.S. Attorney for North Dakota because he has the right background and experience to lead federal law enforcement efforts in North Dakota,” said Senators Hoeven and Cramer. “Over his career, he has tried cases ranging from trafficking and child exploitation to fraud and money laundering, and will bring strong expertise to the role. We appreciate his willingness to serve in this position and his work to uphold law and order in our state.”
Chase was previously appointed by Governor Doug Burgum as a District Court Judge for North Dakota’s East Central Judicial District. He also spent two decades at the U.S. Attorney’s office for North Dakota, where he served as Acting U.S. Attorney and First Assistant U.S. Attorney. Chase is a native of North Dakota, with additional experience in private legal practice and as a federal judicial law clerk.
