Senator John Hoeven has announced a significant development for the Cavalier Space Force Station. The Department of the Army has awarded a contract valued at $19,129,000 to construct an emergency power plant fuel storage facility at the site. This project involves building a 360,000-gallon fuel storage farm designed to support emergency power needs for the station's Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS).

Hoeven emphasized North Dakota's contribution to national space operations with this investment. He stated, "North Dakota is playing an important role in our nation’s space operations. This funding will help to construct an emergency power plant fuel storage farm, which is important in ensuring the operation of Cavalier’s PARCS, which detects missile threats and monitors satellites and other space objects."

The construction is expected to enhance the capabilities of PARCS by ensuring it remains operational during emergencies.
