Bismarck Historical Society to host event on Belle Mehus Auditorium history

The Bismarck Historical Society is organizing a public program focused on the history of the Belle Mehus Auditorium. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Belle Mehus Auditorium, starting at 6:30 PM.

Presenters Susan Lundberg and Stephanie Delmore will discuss the origins and legacy of Bismarck’s original Civic Auditorium. The presentation will highlight Belle Mehus, a piano teacher from Bismarck who became the auditorium's namesake. The venue first opened in 1914 and is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. After the talk, staff from the Bismarck Event Center will lead a tour of the facility.
