Sweet and Indiana avenues at 3rd street in Bismarck closed for concrete work

Sweet Avenue and Indiana Avenue at 3rd Street in Bismarck will be closed starting Monday, August 25, 2025, due to planned concrete work. The closure is expected to last until the end of the week.

Detour routes have been set up for drivers affected by the closure. For those on the east side of the intersections, detours will use 5th Street to Bowen Avenue and then west back to 3rd Street. On the west side, traffic will be redirected via 2nd Street to Bowen Avenue and then east back to 3rd Street.

After Sweet Avenue and Indiana Avenue reopen, further closures are scheduled for Bowen Avenue and Arbor Avenue at 3rd Street for similar concrete work. This second phase is also expected to last about one week. During this period, west side detours will use 2nd Street to Indiana Avenue and then return east to 3rd Street. East side traffic on Bowen Avenue at 3rd Street will be routed via 5th Street to Indiana Avenue.
