The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has scheduled a public hearing for the draft 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The hearing will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Ed “Bosh” Froehlich Meeting Room of Mandan City Hall, located at 205 2nd Ave NW, Mandan. This session will be held alongside the MPO Technical Advisory Committee meeting.

Community members who wish to comment can participate through video or audio link by submitting their email address and contact information at least one business day before the meeting.

According to the MPO, "The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for public involvement in the development of the draft 2026-2029 TIP. The TIP coordinates and schedules transportation projects (i.e., highway, street, bikeway, pedestrian, transit, safety, enhancements, and other transportation improvements) in the metropolitan area over the next four years, thereby making these projects eligible for federal assistance."

The program includes transportation projects proposed by Bismarck, Mandan, Lincoln, Morton County, Burleigh County and NDDOT. It outlines a list of transit needs planned for funding during this period.

"The draft TIP contains the Program of Projects or identified list of transit needs to be funded over the next four years," according to information from organizers.

Residents can review the draft TIP online or in person. After considering public comments received during this process, officials plan to present the document to the MPO Policy Board for further action.
