The North Dakota Department of Commerce’s Global Talent Office (GTO) has launched a new initiative to help English language learners across the state. The program is a partnership with EnGen, a provider of virtual, career-focused English upskilling.

The initiative will provide free access to EnGen’s on-demand English instruction for both employers and community organizations throughout North Dakota. The goal is to support workers and job seekers by helping them gain English skills that are aligned with in-demand careers.

Participants will have access to more than 170 career-specific English courses, including those tailored for roles such as certified nursing assistant (CNA), commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders, and early childhood educators. The program also includes live online workshops, multilingual coaching, digital literacy support, and an easy enrollment process for both employers and job seekers.

According to the announcement: “This initiative provides no-cost access to English instruction for local employers and community organizations across North Dakota, helping to connect both incumbent workers and job seekers with in-demand career skills, including English skills.”
