Crack sealing work is scheduled to begin on several arterial streets in Bismarck starting Wednesday, August 20, 2025. According to city officials, the project will focus on Tyler Parkway from Pinto Place to Valley Drive, Divide Avenue from 3rd Street to College Drive, and Washington Street from Avenue D to Divide Avenue.
While the roads will remain open during the maintenance period, drivers should be prepared for possible lane shifts, narrower lanes, or flaggers directing traffic. The city estimates that the work will take about three days to complete if weather conditions allow.
"Starting Wednesday, August 20, 2025, cracks will be sealed on various arterial streets around Bismarck. The roads are planned to remain open to traffic, but drivers may encounter lane shifts, reduced widths, or flaggers during this time. Work is expected to last roughly three days, weather permitting. Below is the list of locations, but the exact order will be determined by the contractor."
The order in which each street segment is addressed will depend on decisions made by the contractor overseeing the project.
