NDDOT invites public input on draft 2026–2029 statewide transportation improvement plan

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has made its draft 2026-2029 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) available for public review and comment. The comment period runs from August 15 to September 15, 2025.

The STIP outlines a four-year plan for transportation projects that will use federal highway and transit funding. The program covers a range of improvements, including work on state and county highways, urban streets, roadway safety features, bikeways, and transit programs.

The draft document can be accessed online at the NDDOT website by navigating to “Construction & Planning” and then “Transportation Plans & Programs.” Printed versions are also available at NDDOT district offices. Those interested in obtaining individual copies can contact Michael Wilz of the NDDOT Programming Division at 701-328-4457.

Comments on the draft should be submitted by September 15. They can be sent to the appropriate NDDOT district office contact or emailed to dot@nd.gov with “Draft STIP” in the subject line.
