Bismarck's 4th of July celebration will move to a new location in 2025. The event, now called Bismarck’s Red White and Boom!, will be held at the MDU Resources Community Bowl on the Bismarck State College campus. This change comes as construction at the State Capitol Grounds makes the traditional site unavailable.

City Administrator Jason Tomanek emphasized the advantages of the new venue: “The MDU Resources Community Bowl offers the ideal space to elevate this experience for families, music lovers, and fireworks fans alike,” he said. Tomanek added that they are excited to maintain the tradition while offering new opportunities.

Scheduled for Friday, July 4, from 4 PM to 11 PM CT, this year's event is free and open to all ages. Attendees can expect interactive games, creative zones with activities like a Bubble Zone and Message to America Wall, and culinary options from local vendors such as Norm’s Catering, FOMO 10-40 Creamery, and Olive’s Ice Cream Truck. Alcoholic beverages will also be available for those over 21.

Entertainment includes live performances by Savanah Benz and a concert by the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra. The night will conclude with a fireworks display launched from the southwest corner of the venue.

The event is supported by several sponsors including Bismarck State College as Title Partner; Presenting Partners like MDU Resources Group Inc., Basin Electric Power Cooperative; and various community partners.

Further details including schedules and maps will be released soon on social media platforms.

Bismarck’s Red White and Boom! continues its tradition of celebrating Independence Day with family-friendly activities, live music, and fireworks in partnership with local organizations.
