Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced the North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission (APUC) awarded funding for three projects. The awards, totaling $395,215, were approved at the APUC quarterly meeting held on February 27 in Bismarck.
APUC is part of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and manages grant programs aimed at research and development for new and expanded uses of agricultural products from North Dakota. These grants support rural communities and agriculture operations by funding basic and applied research, marketing, farm diversification, agritourism, prototypes, technology, and technical assistance.
The following projects received approval:
PHAT Brothers Bakery Inc., operating as Tatanka Sky, was awarded $150,000 to establish a facility for repurposing bison hides and skulls. Kevin Cavanagh can be contacted at 701-202-9256 for more information.

APUC's next grant application hearing is scheduled for May 28-29, 2025, in Minot. Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2025.
