Governor Kelly Armstrong recently held a meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House. The discussions were centered on President Trump's recent executive orders aimed at easing federal restrictions on coal-fired power plants instituted during the Biden administration. These orders also focus on enhancing the reliability and security of the United States electric grid.
"North Dakota stands ready to partner with the Trump administration to roll back regulations and reset the national narrative on dispatchable energy from coal and natural gas to ensure that all Americans have access to reliable, affordable electricity," stated Armstrong. He further emphasized the importance of such executive decisions in supporting the country's baseload electricity and promoting energy dominance.
During his visit, Armstrong also engaged with members of the state's congressional delegation. Later, he joined President Trump and the Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, to extend congratulations to the North Dakota State University Bison football team. The team was honored at the White House following their victory in January, securing their 10th national title in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision over the past 14 seasons.
