Gov. Armstrong has declared March 18, 2025, as North Dakota Agriculture Day. This proclamation aligns with the national agriculture day and was celebrated by various agriculture-related groups at an event held at the state Capitol.
Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring commented on the day's activities, stating, “Many of these groups had display booths and tables in the Memorial and Legislative Halls today.” He noted that legislators, Capitol employees, and visitors engaged with these displays to gain insights into the crucial role agriculture plays in North Dakota. Attendees also enjoyed a meal featuring commodities produced by local farmers and ranchers.
Goehring emphasized the state's natural resources and diverse landscape, which support local agricultural production: “North Dakota has been blessed with abundant resources and a varied landscape that enable our farmers and ranchers to produce food, feed, fiber and fuel for families near and far,” he said. He added that the state appreciates all efforts made by its farmers and ranchers.
More than 20 organizations, associations, and agencies related to agriculture took part in today's event.
