The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a house fire at a single-family residence on the south side of Bismarck, North Dakota, on Monday evening. The incident occurred on March 17th, 2025, when the department received a call at approximately 9:37 PM about a structure fire in the 3800 block of Poseidon Loop.
Fire crews were dispatched promptly and arrived at the scene by 9:46 PM. Upon arrival, they observed smoke emanating from the front door and eaves of the house. Firefighters entered through the front door with charged hose lines and encountered heavy smoke conditions on the main level. They located and extinguished a fire in the kitchen area that involved the stove and cabinets.
Additional teams conducted a search of the house to ensure all occupants had evacuated safely. During this search, two pets were found and removed from the premises. After extinguishing the fire, an overhaul operation was carried out to identify and eliminate any remaining smoldering materials.
There were no injuries reported among either the home's occupants or firefighters. The damage caused by the fire was confined to its point of origin in the kitchen, although smoke damage affected other parts of the house. A subsequent investigation determined that the cause of the fire was accidental and related to cooking activities.
