Secretary of State Michael Howe has announced the submission of a proposed petition to initiate a statutory measure concerning window tinting. The proposal is now under review and awaiting approval for circulation.
Jeremy-Isaac Schaeffer from Fargo, North Dakota, is leading the sponsoring committee for this initiative. A copy of the proposed petition has been attached, including a list of committee members and a timeline for the process.
The Secretary of State, along with the Attorney General, will have five to seven business days to draft a title for the petition. This title must be concise and accurately represent the measure. It will appear on petitions circulated for signatures from qualified electors. The title will be given to the sponsoring committee between February 13 and February 18, 2025.
