Bismarck Fire Department Responds to Hotel Fire

At approximately 5:07 pm on Thursday May 25th, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a call for a possible fire in a room of a hotel in the 1100 block of Capitol Ave. Residents were able to evacuate with the assistance of the alarm system and the hotel manager. When the fire department arrived, the first in crew reported heavy smoke in the hallway of the first floor.

The fire crews made entry and advanced a 1¾ line to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was reported out, crews continued to overhaul and ventilate the fire room, the hallway and stairways. The fire was contained to the room of origin.

Six fire department apparatus and 18 fire fighters were dispatched to the scene. The Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control and investigation. Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide medical suport. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
