The Senate has passed legislation to fund the government and end the ongoing shutdown. The agreement includes three full-year appropriations bills, with provisions for agriculture and veterans' programs. Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee and chairs the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, played a role in negotiating the package, including the Fiscal Year 2026 Agriculture Appropriations bill.

Senator Hoeven commented on the development: "This agreement will keep our government open and provide certainty for farmers, ranchers and veterans. As Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, I worked to ensure strong support for our producers while also meeting our commitment to those who have served our nation."
