Funding is now available for ethanol facilities in North Dakota through the Low Carbon Fuels Program, according to an announcement from Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. The program aims to support projects that improve efficiency and reduce the carbon intensity of ethanol production.
“The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is seeking grant proposals from ethanol production facilities in the state,” Goehring said. “Eligible capital projects are construction of new infrastructure or replacement of existing infrastructure for carbon dioxide capture and storage, beneficial use of carbon dioxide, energy efficiency enhancements, or ethanol yield improvements.”
The grants are capped at $3 million per biennium, with applicants required to provide half of the total project cost as matching funds. More details on how to apply can be found on the NDDA website at https://www.ndda.nd.gov/low-carbon-fuels-program.
