McLean County seeks deputy auditor specializing in payroll and HR

McLean County has announced a job opening for the position of Deputy Auditor in its Auditor’s Office. The role focuses on payroll, human resources, and wellness programs for county employees. The new hire will be responsible for processing payroll, assisting with HR tasks such as onboarding and benefits administration, coordinating employee wellness initiatives, preparing reports and newsletters, maintaining forms, and providing backup support for administrative duties.

The county is looking for candidates with an associate degree in accounting, business administration, human resources or a related field. Equivalent work experience may also be considered. Applicants should have knowledge of payroll processes, HR functions, basic accounting principles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with School ERP Pro is preferred but not required.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required for the position. Candidates must also demonstrate confidentiality and effective communication abilities.

McLean County offers competitive pay and benefits including paid leave, holidays, a Monday through Friday work schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and opportunities for professional development.
