Cass County Vector Control has announced plans to conduct aerial mosquito spraying in the cities of Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo. The operation is scheduled for Thursday, August 7, 2025, after 7:30 p.m., pending suitable weather conditions.

The announcement comes as the community faces the highest risk level for West Nile virus. There have been confirmed ongoing human infections and hospitalizations linked to the virus. Residents are advised to take necessary steps to avoid mosquito bites.

A pre-application flight will be conducted early in the morning before spraying begins. This initial flight aims to identify potential obstructions in the planned route; no insecticide will be used during this phase.

According to Cass County officials, more details about the products used in mosquito control can be found on their website at https://www.casscountynd.gov/vector. Additional information regarding other scheduled control applications is also available at https://www.casscountynd.gov/mosquitosprayingschedule.

"Residents are urged to take all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites."

For further updates on vector control efforts or product details, residents can refer to official county resources online.
