The North Dakota Department of Agriculture has awarded a total of $687,694 through its Agriculture Diversification and Development (ADD) Fund to support three agricultural projects. The funding was approved during the ADD quarterly meeting held on July 23 in Medora.

The ADD Fund is managed by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and aims to help new or expanding value-added agriculture businesses that show financial viability, contribute to industry profitability, create jobs, and help grow the state’s economy. Eligible projects for this fund include agriculture product manufacturing, animal production facilities, commodity processing, and food production or processing operations. Facilities involved in feed or pet food processing may also qualify for support.

Northland Sires Inc. received $250,000 to develop a bull-test facility intended for livestock producers in the Upper Midwest. Dakota SAO, LLP was awarded $250,000 to reconfigure its swine facilities for breeding gilts and to improve biosecurity measures. Richter Farms, LLP secured $187,694 to transition its dairy facility into a beef cattle backgrounding operation.

Applications for consideration at the next ADD Fund meeting must be submitted by October 1, 2025.
