The St. Cloud Rox secured a narrow 3-2 victory over the Larks, closing out the game in dramatic fashion during the bottom of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, pitcher Brandon Jaenke induced Ricardo Aponte to ground out to third base, ending the contest.

“All the confidence in the world,” said St. Cloud Rox Manager Nick Studdard of Jaenke. “It’s death, taxes, and Brandon Jaenke in the 9th. That’s what I went out there and told him, hey man, there is no one on the planet that is better than you in this situation.”

The Rox established an early lead in the first inning when Larks starting pitcher hit Jackson Cooke with a pitch while the bases were loaded, resulting in a run scored. The team added another run in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Eric Bello.
