Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced the activation of the North Dakota Harvest Hotline. The service is intended to connect farmers in need of custom combining with available harvesters.

“Farmers who need custom combining and combiners looking for a job should call us at 701-328-5110,” stated Goehring. “Your name and information will be entered into the Harvest Hotline database to be matched up with other callers.”

The hotline will be managed by employees of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, who will answer calls on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Callers can also leave messages during evenings and weekends. This service is offered free of charge.

Additionally, a self-service Harvest Hotline map is available online. By visiting www.ndda.nd.gov and clicking on “Maps,” users can find information about harvesters in their area.

“Both farmers and harvesters are already utilizing the service,” added Goehring.

The Harvest Hotline was first introduced in 1992 following adverse weather conditions that increased demand for custom combining services. It has since been provided annually as a free resource for both farmers and custom harvesters.
