Registration is now open for the 5th annual Behavioral Health & Children and Family Services Conference. The event is scheduled to take place from October 20-23 at the Bismarck Event Center, with an option to attend online via livestream.

The conference provides a platform for behavioral health and child welfare professionals in North Dakota to connect, learn, network, and share best practices. It includes both in-person and virtual participation options.

Preconference sessions are set for October 20, while the main conference will commence on Tuesday morning, October 21.

Attendees include behavioral health and child welfare professionals, service providers, foster and adoptive parents, kinship caregivers, educators, law enforcement personnel, healthcare providers, tribal and faith leaders, among others invested in community well-being.

The registration fee is $200 for general attendees. University students, kinship caregivers (relative homes), and foster or adoptive parents can register for $50. On-site registration will be available. Continuing education units are being pursued for multiple professional disciplines.

Keynote speakers include Lara Love Hardin—a literary agent and author whose memoir was a 2024 Oprah Book Club pick—and David Ambroz—a national poverty and child welfare expert recognized by President Obama as an American Champion of Change. Jessica Lahey will also speak about learning science and substance use prevention.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for those interested in supporting the conference.

The event will be held at the Bismarck Event Center located at 315 Fifth St., Bismarck.
