During the first half of 2025, North Dakota's commercial airports saw a 10% increase in passenger boardings compared to the same period in 2024. The total reached 654,304 passengers, an increase of 59,263 from the previous year.
June 2025 set a record as the busiest June ever with 108,270 passengers statewide. This represents nearly a 5% rise over June last year and an additional 4,749 passengers using commercial air service during that month.
North Dakota has experienced fourteen consecutive months of record-high passenger activity. "Every corner of North Dakota is benefiting from enhanced air service, with more flights, better connections, and growing access to major hubs. This upward trend is great news for our communities, our economy, and our future," stated Kyle Wanner, Executive Director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission.
Recent updates in air service include:
- Bismarck: American Airlines started new daily nonstop service to Chicago O'Hare on June 5th.
- Fargo: Delta Air Lines announced new daily year-round service to Atlanta starting December 20th.
- Minot: United Airlines added two more daily flights to Denver for a total of five daily departures.
- Williston: United Airlines also added a fifth daily departure to Denver.
Fargo's Hector International Airport set a new June record with 47,898 passenger boardings, surpassing the previous high set in June 2024. This marks fifteen consecutive months of all-time monthly highs for Fargo.
