The Sitting Bull College AIBL Chapter participated in the AIBL National Business Plan Competition held on March 10-11 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, NV. The event was part of the Reservation Economic Summit (RES). Students Melissa Dwarf, Tia Luger, Camree Pete, Alex Eagle, Na-Ja Marshall, and Brendan Traversie represented the college along with their chapter advisor Glen Philbrick.

The chapter presented their business plan titled Owašté. This plan aims to expand customer options by offering a range of health-focused, non-toxic, and eco-conscious products through an online marketplace. The proposal was theoretical in nature.

During the competition, team members showcased their project before other AIBL and RES attendees. They also visited a technology center at UNLV to explore new innovations for casinos and hotels. Additionally, the RES Trade Show allowed students to network with successful indigenous-owned businesses across Turtle Island.

An awards banquet took place on March 11th where the Sitting Bull College AIBL Chapter secured second place. Historically, the chapter has consistently placed in this competition whenever they have participated.

Financial support for travel and other activities came from a grant provided by First Nations.
