The Mandan Progress Organization (MPO) has introduced the Memorial Card digital gift card program to assist businesses located along Memorial Highway during ongoing road construction. The initiative, which began over the Memorial Day weekend, is designed to maintain local spending throughout a two-phase, three-year reconstruction project.

In February, the MPO proposed this program at the request of the Mandan Growth Fund. A 25% match for funding was agreed upon by the Growth Fund. On April 15, the City Commission approved $50,000 for the program—$40,000 allocated for incentives and $10,000 for marketing efforts.

A survey conducted in March targeted 130 businesses situated in the Memorial Highway project area and received a response rate of 28%. More than 80% of respondents expressed support for the new program.

This effort mirrors a similar initiative from the 1990s when both the City and MPO aided Main Street businesses during reconstruction. Further information can be accessed at visitmandan.com or by contacting MPO at 701-751-2983.
