Major Tom Iverson, Chief of Operations | North Dakota Highway Patrol
On May 9, 2025, a fatal motorcycle crash occurred on 153rd St NW, between 79th Ave SE and 93rd Ave SE, north of Sawyer. The incident took place between 9:30 pm and 10:00 pm Central Time. The road and weather conditions were reported as good at the time of the accident.
The crash involved a single vehicle, a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The driver, a 43-year-old male from Minot, North Dakota, lost control of the motorcycle resulting in a rollover crash. He was not wearing a helmet and sustained fatal injuries.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
Agencies responding to the scene included the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Ward County Sheriff's Office, Trinity First Response, and Sawyer Fire Department.
