North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) is inviting residents to take part in a quarterly update on the state's efforts to support people with physical disabilities who want to live at home. The US Department of Justice (USDOJ) Settlement Agreement Stakeholder meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 7, from 10 a.m. to noon Central Time. Attendees can join either in person at HHS Prairie Hills Plaza offices in Bismarck or virtually.

The meeting aims to share information and discuss strategies for improving access to care options that help individuals delay or avoid nursing home placement if they choose. This effort aligns with HHS’s goal of expanding access to quality services and supports closer to home.

The agenda includes an overview of the DOJ semiannual report and updates about upcoming Qualified Service Provider quality and compliance workshops scheduled for October. There will also be updates on home and community-based services, the Transition and Diversion program, as well as details about the Target Population Member Rental Assistance Program, funds for home modifications, peer support opportunities, and more.

Participants can attend in person at 1237 W. Divide Ave., Suite 6, in Bismarck by entering through door No. 2. Those wishing to participate remotely are directed to consult the USDOJ Settlement Agreement Stakeholder meeting notice for virtual access details.

Individuals with disabilities who need accommodations for the meeting can contact Shelly Selzler at (701) 328-8679, use TTY service at 711, or email mmselzler@nd.gov.

Residents seeking assistance with tasks such as housecleaning, meal preparation, transportation, personal care needs, or other community-based services can reach out through the state’s Aging and Disability Resource Link toll-free at (855) 462-5465 or by email at carechoice@nd.gov. Applications for these services are also available online at carechoice.nd.assistguide.net.
