The Bismarck Fire Department recently hosted a special visit for 6-year-old Royce, who is undergoing cancer treatment. This event was organized in collaboration with Living Hope Church as part of the Best Day Ever program, founded by Andy Lam. During his visit, Royce learned about fire service operations and enjoyed activities with the crew.

Royce's tour included a ride in the department’s ladder truck, setting up the truck, and operating a hose line under firefighter supervision. The crew spent time showing him equipment and playing catch with a football. Captain Dusty Schlittenhardt expressed, "It was heartwarming to see Royce full of energy throughout the afternoon and doing so well in his battle with cancer."

This initiative is part of the department’s efforts to engage with the community, particularly supporting families and children facing medical challenges.
