The city of Mandan has announced the closure of the intersection at Shady Lane and Main Street East for construction, scheduled from May 12 to May 26, subject to weather conditions.

According to a press release by the city of Mandan, drivers will be rerouted via Mandan Avenue and Missouri Drive to access surrounding streets, including Shady Lane and First through Fourth Streets NE. Moore Engineering is managing the project with Aiden Kelly as the project engineer.

Street Improvement District 235 in Mandan encompasses two main project areas focused on rehabilitating roadways, improving drainage, and replacing infrastructure. Area 1 involves street reconstruction, drainage enhancements, and accessibility upgrades, including intersection improvements on Shady Lane. Area 2 includes water main replacement, street milling and overlay, and concrete repairs. According to the city of Mandan, all streets were restored to drivable condition before winter break, with remaining work scheduled for spring or summer 2025 after load restrictions are lifted. Parking limits and temporary closures will continue as needed.

The Engineering Department oversees city-wide engineering and planning functions including management of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants.
