The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a grant of $5,844,554 through the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program for projects at various airports in North Dakota. This funding is part of an effort to modernize and enhance safety at these facilities.
The Bismarck Municipal Airport will receive $2,491,667 to expand and reconstruct parts of its General Aviation Apron. The Jamestown Regional Airport Authority is allocated $2,200,000 to enlarge a snow removal equipment and sand storage building.
Mercer County Regional Airport Authority will use $552,962 for resealing work on taxiways, aprons, runways, and taxilanes. Bottineau Municipal Airport Authority is granted $171,000 for rehabilitating an airport rotating beacon.
Mandan Airport Authority receives $137,000 to construct new underdrains for drainage control. Crosby Municipal Airport Authority will get $120,000 to build a new hangar aimed at making the airport self-sustaining.
Glen Ullin Regional Airport Authority is awarded $86,925 for resealing various pavements. Standing Rock Sioux Tribe will utilize $85,000 to rehabilitate runway and apron pavements.
These projects are funded by the AIG Program established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Since its inception, over $49 million has been allocated to North Dakota airports through this program.
