Doug Goehring Agriculture Commissioner | North Dakota Department of Agriculture
Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced the opening of applications for county fair resiliency grants. These grants are designed to support county agriculture fair associations in North Dakota with infrastructure projects. Eligible associations include those that manage or run a county fair within the state.
Goehring emphasized the significance of county fairs, stating, “County fairs serve an important role in teaching about agriculture and need facilities to do so.” He further explained that these grants will help fairs with infrastructure-related expenses, enabling them to remain vital community centers for activities such as exhibits and rodeos.
The program was established by the 69th Legislative Assembly with a budget of $1.5 million. Each grant is capped at $100,000, although the North Dakota Department of Agriculture may award less than requested amounts.
Guidelines and applications are available on the NDDA website: https://www.ndda.nd.gov/county-fair-resiliency-grant. The deadline for electronic submissions is 4 p.m. CT on Friday, May 30, 2025. Applications will be reviewed and scored before applicants are notified in writing about their status.
