The City of Bismarck's Engineering Department has issued a reminder to residents and businesses regarding advertising restrictions in public right of way areas. The city emphasizes the importance of keeping boulevards clear to ensure safety and convenience for all community members.
Unauthorized advertisements in these areas are prohibited, as they may pose risks to pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. The right of way is generally defined as the area from the back of the sidewalk on one side of the street to the back on the opposite side. It includes grassed boulevards typically situated between sidewalks and curbs.
The city urges citizens to report any suspected unauthorized advertising in these areas. "By working together, we can maintain a safe and accessible environment for all," states the city's announcement.
To facilitate this, residents and businesses can report such obstructions online via the City of Bismarck's website. By visiting the "Report a Concern" section and filling out the form with necessary details, issues will be addressed by the appropriate department.
