Construction on East Century Avenue in Bismarck continues despite weather-related delays, according to Knife River Corporation. In an update issued by Public Relations Coordinator Andrew Osborn, the company reported that heavy rainfall over the past week temporarily slowed progress but did not halt the project.

On September 19, Northern Improvement completed paving the asphalt roadway on 52nd Street. This step is described as a significant milestone, as it allows for final ditch grading, topsoiling, and seeding in the area.

Knife River plans to resume concrete paving this week and aims to finish both the main paving work and all side street tie-ins—specifically Kost Drive, Sumter Drive, and British Drive—within the next two weeks. Work will also continue on sidewalks and shared-use paths alongside these efforts.

The corporation stated that overall progress remains on schedule despite recent setbacks from inclement weather. "Despite recent weather-related delays, the project remains on schedule and continues to show excellent progress. We anticipate completion to be very close to the originally projected timeframe," Osborn said.

Residents were thanked for their patience during construction activities. "We sincerely appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation. We know that roadwork can be disruptive, and we’re grateful for your support. Our team is committed to delivering lasting transportation and infrastructure improvements that benefit the entire community," Osborn added.
