The McLean County Sheriff's Office is recruiting candidates for the position of Jailer/Dispatcher I. This role integrates duties related to jail operations and emergency dispatch. The chosen individual will monitor inmate safety and compliance and manage incoming calls for dispatch services.

The primary tasks involve supervising inmates, performing intake and booking, and responding to calls for law enforcement and emergency services. Accurate maintenance of communication records is essential. The role necessitates the provision of customer service to both the public and law enforcement personnel.

Eligible applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess strong communication and multitasking abilities. Experience in law enforcement or corrections is preferred, but not essential. Applications are being accepted until 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, with an emphasis on candidates with previous experience. The starting salary is between $45,881.24 and $49,505.21 annually, based on experience, with options for overtime work. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package, covering health insurance and retirement contributions.
