Doug Goehring Agriculture Commissioner | North Dakota Department of Agriculture
The North Dakota Department of Agriculture will host a cooking demonstration in recognition of National Soy Foods Month. The event, led by students from the United Tribes Technical College's sustainable agriculture and food systems program, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, at 3 p.m. It will take place at the UTTC campus on 3315 University Drive in Bismarck.
"April is National Soy Foods Month, and students will add their own unique culinary flare to a soy foods recipe utilizing edamame," stated Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. "Attendees will learn about soybeans and other North Dakota specialty crops, and their importance in agriculture in North Dakota."
Edamame are described as immature soybeans, harvested when they are still green.
Before the demonstration, a tour of UTTC's new greenhouse is open to the public at 2 p.m., offering insights into sustainable farming practices and innovative crop cultivation. The tour will also be available online.
