Tanner Veo elected president of AIHEC Student Congress for 2025-2026

Tanner Veo has been elected as the 2025-2026 President of the AIHEC Student Congress. Previously, Veo served as Mr. AIHEC for 2024-2025 and is currently enrolled in a Master's program in Environmental Science.

The American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) Student Congress represents students from 37 Tribal Colleges and Universities across the United States and Canada. These member schools are fully accredited, offering educational opportunities both on and off reservations, with degrees ranging from vocational certificates to doctorates.

Since its founding in 1986, the AIHEC Student Congress has aimed to foster leadership, self-governance, cultural preservation, educational achievement, community development, economic sustainability, and success among Native people. Its past initiatives include lobbying efforts in Washington D.C., student representation on national panels, and the establishment of a leadership institute.

Veo's election is seen as a testament to his dedication and commitment to education. "Your dedication, resilience and unwavering commitment to your education have truly paid off," reads a statement celebrating his achievement.
