The North Dakota Department of Commerce has allocated $522,432 to two organizations under the fifth round of the Regional Workforce Impact Program (RWIP). This initiative aims to provide funding for regional workforce entities to develop innovative solutions to address significant workforce challenges.
Commerce Workforce Director Katie Ralston Howe stated, "We're investing in North Dakota's future through the Regional Workforce Impact Program. By expanding childcare options and strengthening workforce recruitment, we're proactively tackling challenges and ensuring our communities thrive and compete effectively."
The recipients of this funding include Reser LLC, which received $22,433 to renovate and expand The Learning Tree child care facility in Minot. This expansion will add 20 childcare slots. Additionally, Dickinson Public School District #1 was awarded $500,000 to build a child care center with a capacity for up to 30 children. The facility will also provide experience-based learning opportunities for high school students studying early childhood education.
Applications for the next round of RWIP funding are open from February 25 to March 25, 2025. Eligible applicants can find more information and apply at https://ndgov.link/RWIP.
