Rupak Karn has taken on the role of precision agriculture specialist at North Dakota State University Extension. He began his new position in January 2025.

Karn will focus on advancing research and programs related to precision agriculture. His responsibilities are split between the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station and NDSU Extension.

His work involves integrating technologies such as remote sensing, unmanned aerial vehicles, and advanced data analytics. These tools aim to develop site-specific management practices that optimize crop production and resource use.

Karn is eager to collaborate with producers and stakeholders in delivering Extension programs. "These programs will facilitate innovative technologies to improve farm sustainability, reduce environmental impact and enhance agricultural productivity," says Karn.
