Doug Goehring Agriculture Commissioner | North Dakota Department of Agriculture
The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is offering funding for teachers of grades 1-4 to integrate microgreens kits into their curriculum. This initiative aims to provide a STEM learning opportunity, as announced by Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring.
"The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is seeking teachers interested in bringing this STEM learning opportunity into their classrooms," Goehring stated. "Students will learn about plants, how they grow and how microgreens are used in basic recipes."
Teachers who wish to apply for the microgreens kits can find more information and submit their applications at https://www.ndda.nd.gov/microgreens. The deadline for electronic submissions is Thursday, February 13, 2025. Those selected will be notified by February 14, 2025. Teachers who have previously received the hydroponic tower garden grant are not eligible to apply.
Inquiries can be directed to Local Foods Marketing Specialist Jenna Nieters at 701-328-2659 or via email at jnieters@nd.gov.
Selected teachers must utilize the kits and deliver the educational content to students by April 1, 2025.
