The Bismarck Larks have announced their first roster moves for the 2025 season, bringing back several players who contributed to the team's success in previous years. The returning players include pitchers Kai Taylor, Lucas Burgum, and Connor Nipp; infielders Erick Dessens and Parker Winghart; catcher Christian Knight; and outfielder Will Millard. Each player has demonstrated strong performances both with the Larks and at their respective colleges.

Kai Taylor, a redshirt senior from Augustana University, made a significant impact last season with an impressive 2.48 ERA over 22 games. His performance also helped his college team reach the Division II College World Series.

Lucas Burgum, from Mandan, North Dakota, had a notable presence on the mound for the Larks last year. "Playing for the Larks in 2024 was one of the most fun summers I’ve had," said Burgum. He looks forward to another summer representing his community.

Connor Nipp returns after making limited appearances but showing potential by striking out seven batters across two games during his 2024 campaign.

Erick Dessens played 50 games for the Larks last season with a .296 batting average. His performance earned him recognition on both the All-ACCAC Second Team and Division II All-Region First Team.

Sydney Ward joined midway through last season and quickly made an impact with six home runs and a .344 batting average over 64 at-bats.

Parker Winghart is ready to build on his previous performance despite limited playtime in just six games last summer.

Christian Knight brings solid defensive skills as catcher while also contributing offensively during his time at Wagner College.

Will Millard returns after gaining experience in his freshman year with Hillsdale College where he started in most games showcasing strong offensive numbers.

Kyle Hvidsten earned accolades such as CHI St Alexius Health Lark of the Year due to outstanding performances including being part of Iowa Western Community College's team before joining Western Kentucky University.

"Having several returning players, including two Northwoods League All-Stars, is a huge win for us," stated Nate Maddox, General Manager of Bismarck Larks. "These guys are foundation members of our roster."

Field Manager Mark Weidemaier expressed pride: “This group exemplifies what it means to be a Lark... They are a group that city Bismarck can be proud."
