The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) announced a $1,600,000 investment in North Dakota State University (NDSU) to support research on the economics of markets and trade.

Specifically, the award will be allocated to two projects at NDSU:

$800,000 will support a project assessing the resilience of supply chain systems for corn and soybeans, focusing on drought-induced impediments in the network under uncertainty and their impacts on trade, food security, and farm income.

$800,000 will support a project assessing the impacts of regulations for genetically modified organisms.
