The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) announced an award of $1,049,037 to North Dakota State University (NDSU) and Antelope Veterinary Service, LLC. The funding will be allocated to specific projects and initiatives.

A total of $924,037 will go to NDSU through the Alfalfa Seed and Alfalfa Forage System Program. This funding is intended to support research aimed at identifying factors that contribute to the persistence of alfalfa and developing strategies to mitigate the loss of alfalfa stands, particularly in cold environments.

Antelope Veterinary Service, LLC will receive $125,000 through the Veterinary Services Grant Program. This funding will support a project designed to provide routine herd services and emergency services to ranchers within a 75-mile radius of the practice starting this fall.
