The North Dakota Department of Commerce has announced the reopening of applications for the Legacy Investment for Technology (LIFT) program. This initiative aims to support economic growth in North Dakota by providing funding to innovative businesses within the state.

Commerce Economic Development & Finance Deputy Director Shayden Akason stated, “The LIFT funds equip North Dakota businesses commercializing intellectual property with debt financing at advantageous interest rates. We’re excited to open the fund to new innovative projects.”

Industries eligible for this funding include advanced computing and data management, agricultural technology, autonomous and uncrewed vehicles, energy, healthcare, value-added agriculture, value-added energy, and other areas recognized by the LIFT Committee as vital to diversifying the state's economy.

Applications are open until March 14, 2025. The program will distribute a total of $1.75 million in loan funding to selected applicants.
