The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management announced the award of $5,000,000 to the University of North Dakota’s Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC). This funding will enable the EERC to leverage its experience from past and ongoing efforts to build a Williston Basin partnership by providing technical assistance to project developers, regulators, and community stakeholders.
UND’s EERC was selected as one of nine project teams to perform technical assistance aimed at reducing project costs and risks, improving monitoring effectiveness, building strategies for engaging with communities, and providing data to support permitting, policy development, and rulemaking.
