Senator John Hoeven today issued a statement on the passing of former U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma.

"As a longtime member of Congress, Jim Inhofe sought to ensure the security and continued prosperity of our nation. His nearly 40 years of public service were focused on making sure Americans were safe in their homes, could afford to keep the lights and heat on and had the opportunity to build a brighter future for their children. We look back with gratitude for his hard work and advocacy toward these important goals. Mikey and I send our sincere condolences to the Inhofe family, and will keep them in our thoughts and prayers."
