EPA awards over $2.4 million to North Dakota for environmental initiatives

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced the allocation of $2,427,167 to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality. The funding will support various environmental programs and initiatives in the state.

Of the total amount, $2,147,167 is designated for performing delegated program activities, conducting quality assurance activities, and maintaining regional and national databases associated with environmental programs. Additionally, $280,000 is allocated to North Dakota’s Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Prevention program. This program encompasses leak detection, prevention measures, and related enforcement activities.

Senator Cramer expressed his views on the announcement: "This significant investment by the EPA underscores the federal commitment to ensuring that North Dakota maintains its high standards in environmental protection."

The funds are expected to bolster efforts aimed at improving environmental quality across North Dakota.
